On a rating of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, we would rate it as a 5. I rented two rooms, one for my husband and I and another for my daughter and familly (husband and son). Although it was located within walking distance of Disneyland and rates were very affordable for our family, the service left a lot to be desired. The personnel at the front desk, although efficient and businesslike, were not friendly (not once did I see them crack a smile). Our requests for a replacement hairdryer or to repair the present one (it gave off sparks when was in use) were acknowledged; however, for the 7 days that we were there, nothing happened. My daughter had to come to my room and use mine. We asked for extra towels as only towels for two people were left in one of our rooms where there were three people (one a child), we were told that there would be an extra charge. The free continental breakfast served cold cereals, milk, coffee, oranges, bananas, and stale pastry. The rooms were clean; however, musty smelling and the air had to be turned on to eliminate the smell (it took about 2 hours for it to fully air out the room). The tv reception was fair, the picture did not come in too clear. The cleaning service was slow - we would leave at 8:00 AM with a request to have room cleaned; we would return at 3:00 pm and our rooms still had not been done. From that point on, we made our own beds and personally exchanged used towels for fresh ones from the cleaning personnel each day. Restaurants within walking distance was very limited (Carrows, Shakey's Pizza, Del Taco) and not very good.

Booking my hotel stay I knew I wasn't getting a Five Star hotel. I was traveling with my daughter and niece for a Cheer Competition event and I would be driving 12 hours round trip. I needed a place where we could rest and the hotel also had a complimentary shuttle bus and free continental breakfast. The housekeepers and shuttle drivers were all very friendly and welcoming. They always made sure you were taken care of and if there was anything they could do for you. The hotel room wasn't the greatest. It could use some new carpeting, painting, updated technology and fixture uppers. When the shuttle bus wasn"t available walking distance to Disney is not safe, especially if you have younger kids. You must cross a busy intersection and walk the long over pass bridge. Cars drive by very fast. The intersection is located in the center of the entering and exiting of the freeway. On our last night my daughter was showering when she encounter a COACHROACH staring down at her from the shower head. It was the BIG COACHROACHES, not your typical bugs you find at homes! They houseman came to the rescue and took care of the problem leaving us with a can of bug spray! The houseman was very sympathetic and apologized for the discomfort and inconvenience. The front desk NEVER once called our room to check up on us. NO accomodations were offered and NO apology was given. My concerns were not taken into consideration, meaning that food is being served on the premises. This was the worst part of my stay. My biggest issue is that food is being served and it's obvious that the hotel has bugs and proper action needs to be taken, to protect the public!

I have stayed at various Days Inn's around the West several times and have always been satisfied. I am basically not a picky person but I was disappointed in this place. 1) The mattresses were like the one's you find in a travel RV. Hard as a rock and old as sin. 2) At check-in, the front desk (management) tried to give me a smoking room and double bed. I had paid for a non-smoking, KING bed. Without the Travel online print-out, I would have lost the battle! The family in front of me had booked 2 rooms, six months before that were supposed to be connected but didn't have the documentation with them and ended up squeezing into one room. 3) Breakfast is very simple...cereal, milk, some bananas and doughnuts which was ok with us. 4) If I had to do it again, I would pay the $* more and stay somewhere else. The area is highly competitive and there are many places as inexpensive as the Days Inn that I think you might prefer.

First the plus, the breakfast, although the dining room is very small, they manage to put in few breads/doughnuts/cereal/coffee/juice enough for quick breakfast. The linens were clean. The Minus... Horrible stay, not kid friendly, stained carpets, bathroom stinking from previous occupants. I stayed there 4 nights, and for three nights the wash basin sink was clogged, and they were not able to repair, offered to change (no upgrade/discounts for the trouble taken) me to a room at far end the third day. No hot water in bathroom after 8am. They have Disney shuttles, with no boarding discipline, driver let the rough guests rush through the van doors leaving the disabled old, infants and mothers waiting outside at Disneyland lots, we had to wait for next trip with an infant and wheelchair disabled, while the healthy were given the first trip. When reported of all these problems, the lady manager had no regrets, instead raised the room rent heavily for the extra day we were helpless to stay there. We tried to check into the hotel, and they advised us that our room still needed to be cleaned and asked that we come back in an hour. We came back 3 hours later, to find that the room was JUST being cleaned. The hotel clerk then moved us to another room. The noise was unbelievable. We could hear housecleaning vacuuming upstairs, the conversation in the next room, and the conversations of the people passing by the room, all while the door was closed. We tried to put the kids down for a nap during the day, which obviously didnt happen. We then took advantage of the shuttle that goes back and forth between the hotel and Disneyland. Upon our return, we were instructed by the bus patrol, where to stand for pick up. Not only did the shuttle not stop at the designated pick up location, they drove right passed us. Again, we had little ones with us, who were exhausted. We called the hotel to advise them that they left us behind and requested that they come back to pick us up. The hotel clerk kept us on hold for over 30 minutes, instead of trying to resolve the situation. 45 minutes later, the shuttle came back to pick us up. We were so unhappy with the service at the hotel, that we packed our bags and left that evening. We didnt even stay the night as originally planned. I sent an email to headquarters, as well as to the hotel manager itself. There was absolutely no empathy from either contact. This is the last time that I stay at this hotel chain.
